Business of the Year 2006

At the regular scheduled monthly meeting, the Churubusco Chamber of Commerce presented Sheets and Childs Funeral Home with the Business of the Year award. After lunch, chamber President Kathy Ford introduced Childs telling the large group gathered about Chids community involvement and all of his town participation.

Meet The Candidates

A "meet the candidates" for local school board elections was recently held and sponsored by the Churubusco News and the Chamber. Citizens were given the opportunity to submit questions prior to the discussion and each canidate was given an opportunity to respond.

 

 

New Bike Rack Installed

Chamber President Kathy Ford and Greg Haney recently installed this new bike rack at the Churubusco Library. The parts and labor were donated by the chamber because the old rack was in disrepair.

 

 

 

 

Picnic in the Park Cancelled

08/26/2006

The annual "Picnic in the Park" and Chamber vs. Firemen softball game were both cancelled Saturday due to rain. Every year, people gather at the park for food provided by the Chamber. A fire truck show is held in the parking lot of the Community park and at the end of the evening, the Chamber and Firemen battle it out on the field and the right to claim the trophy. Chamber members present Rick Krider, Park President, a check to purchase new picnic tables.

The Chamber leads the series 7-1.

 

Pork Burger Sale

The Chamber held it's annual pork burger sale this year to raise money for scholarships that go to local seniors. As they do every year, the community came out to support the sale and the subsequent scholarships.
